30 Day Refund Policy
Is there a way an instructor can change the refund policy on their own? Having an automatic 30 day return means that if a full-time student or someone with no job that spends 20 days cranking out the course can download the course files and finish the course and get a refund before the 30 day expiration? Doesn't seem fair to the instructor that put in all that time creating the course.

So, the answer to your specific question is no.
But in practice, it's not really an issue. Let's say you sell $1000 in courses in a month, and refunds amount to $50 - 5%, which is considered high. You shouldn't worry about the $50. That's not the path to success on Udemy.

Yes @ScottDuffy is right, in my case, the return rate is about 2%. The return policy gives students the flexibility to choose the best course according to them, and this gives great credibility to udemy. This policy gives us feedback too, if our courses have high enrollments and high refunds, maybe the promotion (banner and video promo) is good, but the content is not, so we must improve.
