AI

AI is for good or bad?

  • I attended a seminar recently on AI and Ethics after one of those self-driving vehicles ran over a civilian. The upshot of the whole seminar is AI in itself is a tool and it's as ethical as the person who programs it or uses it in a harmful way. It's a screwdriver or a T-square - not an autonomous consciousness making decisions for itself. AI will prioritize the lives and well-being of whoever the creator tells them is most important first. Shareholders most likely.

And the first pillar in terms of accountability in the marketplace is always the consumer. Consumers generally care about what a thing does for them more than where or how it was made. And in that regard humans will always have a slight advantage. AI can only really work with what already exists and can be referenced in terms of content.

However once you make a course I suppose any AI can just come in and harvest that course for data.
