Voice / Sound slightly off after export? Reasons?

Hey community,

seeking your advice today.

I have realized that in some cases the sound / voice seems to be slightly off from my video. There seems to be a difference of just a split second, which is odd.

I use camtasia for my recordings and than export my audio file to enhance it via the adobe podcast enhancer. I than add the enhanced audio file to my camtasia file again for my final export and upload to udemy.

The file i upload to adobe is exactly as long as my video and i don´t do any cutting after exporting my audio file.

The problem seems to exist on my computer, as well as online. I got no idea where this is coming from. In Camtasia everything seems fine and i even compared my final video and uploaded that back into C amtasia to review my audio-signatures and can´t find any difference.

I´m not even sure if there´s a real issue here or if it´s just a loading / bandwith issue? Has anyone faced the same problem / situation?

Thanks for your advice and happy holidays!

Niels

  • This is a common problem with Camtasia. Separate the audio & video and you can move the audio slightly to match back up. It's funny because even some of the videos that Camtasia posts on YouTube have this obvious issue where the audio doesn't match perfectly with the video.

@Btkrausen thanks for pointing that out.

However i´m not quite sure if that´s my problem as everything seems to be fine in camtasia as well, but not after exporting the video. The problem might occur from the audio and visual processing, so i´m currently trying different exporting settings.

  • I'd open a support ticket with TechSmith if you can. I'm sure they've seen this before.
