About doing assignments on the mobile app.

Hello,

we have just launched a demo course on the udemy platform, which is intended for kids from low income families to do on a mobile phone. We realized only now that the assignments can only be done on a desktop or laptop, which these kids may not have access to. Assignments in this course are an important part of the 'learner engagement'. Is there any possibility of udemy upgrading the app in the near future and allowing assignments to be viewed and done from the mobile app?

    Hi @alok_mathur1958

Thank you for your question, and congratulations on your new course! 🎉

Currently, assignments are not supported on the Udemy mobile app. Students can take and complete assignments by opening the lecture on a desktop or laptop computer.

We truly understand how this might be inconvenient, especially considering the target audience. While the Udemy mobile app currently doesn't support completing assignments directly, a workaround would be to ask the students to access Udemy through a web browser (like Google Chrome) on their mobile device. They can switch their browser to the Desktop version, allowing them to view and complete assignments without any issues.

I’m going to pass along your thoughts and needs to our product team here just in the chance that this becomes something that we might build out in the future. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards,

  • Thank you Mariofal for responding to my query. This clarifies the picture… even though the workaround you have suggested may not readily work for the profile of students we have in mind.

Hopefully, the product team will soon consider adding another layer to the app to make all aspects of the courses on Udemy mobile friendly.

    Best regards

  • Will await this development.

Meanwhile, we have changed the instructions on our course; hopefully an accompanying adult might be able to avail of the workaround you have suggested.

    Thanks

Hi @Mario F. I have a similar challenge. I tried your workaround and it doesn't seem to work "workaround would be to ask the students to access Udemy through a web browser (like Google Chrome) on their mobile device. They can switch their browser to the Desktop version, allowing them to view and complete assignments without any issues."

Any other workaround? Or estimated date for a mobile-friendly solution?
