Does Udemy supply recommendations for pricing?

No, only if a course is above 2 hours then it can't be free.

If Udemy sees fit it will override your set pricing for what it feels reflects market value.

Thanks for your question!
You can set any price you like for your course. If you join the Udemy Deals Program, Udemy will determine your course price and offer discounts during promotions. If a higher price point maximizes your course’s revenue over time, the system will adjust accordingly. Conversely, if data indicates better revenue at a lower price, it will adjust downward. You will also set a backup price for regions not using the Deals Program or in case of temporary issues with it. If you opt out of the Deals Program, you set your own price. We recommend considering factors like course duration, content depth, and your expertise when selecting a price tier.
I hope this helps.

Thank you. I think I signed up on the Udemy Deals Program. I'll re-check the link.
I've also gotten my first promotional offer from someone outside Udemy that I've taken to be business on the level of scam. (I got similar messages after my TEDx reached 500 views.) Great claims for creating reviews and buys of the the program.
I assume this is typical. Does Udemy allow this?

When it comes to offers on social media channels, most instructors avoid engaging with them, as they rarely lead to meaningful success, particularly when it comes to course engagement.
Additionally, please note that purchasing reviews is strictly prohibited and violates our Trust & Safety policies. Engaging in such practices can result in a permanent ban from Udemy.
If you have additional questions, please feel free to ask! We are always happy to help 😊.
