Voice Match Video Text?

I am planning to create a faceless course using Microsoft PowerPoint (my first course on Udemy), where the content will be presented through slides. My aim is to avoid the dreaded "death by PowerPoint" style and keep the course engaging.

The slides will contain summarized key points of the content, while the voiceover will elaborate on these points, much like how a trainer expands on slide content in a face-to-face session. The idea is to use the slides as a visual aid rather than a script.

My question is:

  • Is this approach allowed and effective on Udemy?
  • Will learners benefit from having summarized text on the slides while hearing a more detailed explanation in the voiceover?

I’d love to hear your thoughts or experiences with this format!

    It is allowed, but ineffective.

You are trying to teach human beings and human beings learn best from another human being whom they find to be credible, likeable and entertaining. These factors result in "engagement." You are eliminating the human element and you will not have engaged students.

In your category, look at the best selling courses. Study your competition. Analyze why they are successful.

Thanks Lawrence for that, while I understand your response and appreciate your concern in the human factor which I see you are referring to the faceless video, I'm not referring to the voice over component for now. I am just starting out and would eventually include myself in the video or another person. For now I just want to determine the voice over script matching the text content in the video (side text not choose caption)
