Post publishing questions regarding views/sales

My program has been up for almost two weeks and has 1 view for 1 minute and of course no reviews.

How long does it typically take to start getting views?

How can I have the course page evaluated for effectiveness? I have pre-release reviews from another lms. Can I include them on my course page?

Are there ways to promote it that I'm not aware of?

This program was put together with HR in mind and can offer Credits for completion. Might it be appropriate for the Business course platform?

    Hi Steve,

I looked at your course. The landing page looks great. I don't know much about SEO but perhaps you could make some adjustments for that. I. watched the preview videos. Your presentation is amazing. Just one comment. The first video takes 22 seconds before you begin talking. That's a bit long I think for the intro music.

You could try promoting your course on subreddits about emotional intelligence or human resources/office politics, etc.

    For example:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/emotionalintelligence/

    https://www.reddit.com/r/selfimprovement/

    https://www.reddit.com/r/PsychologicalTricks/

    https://www.reddit.com/r/socialskills/

    https://www.reddit.com/r/DecidingToBeBetter/

    https://www.reddit.com/r/work/

    https://www.reddit.com/r/OfficePolitics/

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Recruitment/

Make sure to check the rules of the subreddit because it is easy to get banned. If you do offer free coupons (which in general I do not recommend) then make sure to write something like "please DM me if you want access to the course". Make sure before you give the coupon to request a review. You don't have to ask for a good review but at least a review. Note that students who get courses for free tend not to watch the course.

It sounds like you already have a following? Perhaps you could send $9.99 coupon codes (valid for 5 days) or $12.99 coupon codes (valid for a month) to people connected with you like on linkedIn.

Finally Udemy has tips on marketing that might be worth checking out.

Regarding UFB - Udemy needs to contact you about that. There is no clear way to get on UFB as far as I'm aware.

    Good luck!

    Ron

  • Thanks for the very generous offer! I'm surprised about the 22 seconds. I'll have to check that out. You mademy day.

  • How can I tell if my course was approved for Promotions?

Hi @Steve_Whiteford1 You are able to check this information by accessing the following link. You will see if your account is opted into the Udemy Deals which will allow Udemy to promote your course and offer the course at a discounted price but also, we can offer the course at a different listed price. Please let us know if you need anything else.

  • Thank you, ElianaC. I had filled out the form and saved it at that link, but I don't see where confirmation would be posted.
