Filming with an iPhone vs DSLR Camera

Hi All!

I am happy to be here and before I embark on my first course ever I had to ask:

A friend recommended to me to rather film my first course using my iPhone XR to save on costs... Does this sound like a viable plan?

He is a hobbyist photographer so not a total laymen but he’s never done online course creation, which has me conflicted.

Hello! We upgraded our iPhones so we could specifically use the camera and I have to say I am really happy with the result! We bought a monkey grip from amazon and some lighting (not expensive) and then when I edit I raise the volume slightly in iMovie. Really pleased!

Thanks for your reply! That is motivating to hear. Is your filming primarily indoor?

I am dead set on getting a tripod and microphone anyways.
