First Udemy posted 10 days back- $95 revenue and 35 students till date

Hi All,

I created my course 10 days back. Till now total students count reached 35. 32 students through referrals and 3 through udemy discovery. I gave free coupons around 15 people. As it's a long term game working on more content to raise more eye balls.

I got 95$ revenue till now. Just want to know from seasoned instructors, typically first month what will be the revenue especially in Finance & Investing related topics. What are tips you suggest to scale up ? I know initially many of close contacts buy so getting students is little easy and main challenge from month 2 onwards. Your inputs are appreciated and thanks for all the help this community is doing.

    Hi Ravi,

Wow - congratulations! These results are simply outstanding for the first month. Many instructors have a considerably slower starting curve.

    Keep rocking!

    With kind regards,

    Vlad.

  • Hi Vlad,

Thanks for your encouraging words. As you are experienced trainer can you suggest on couple on things.

    1. Should i wait for my first course to have bigger based and then upload the second course? or may be after 2,3 months should I upload?

    2. Regarding expanding reach do we need to our own marketing more or Udemy marketing will suffice if I focus more on content.

    Thanks,

    Hi Ravi,

It is great to hear that you are already thinking about the second course. There is no reason to wait until the first course gets bigger. Of course, a small pause makes sense - to congratulate yourself and take something like a vacation between courses. But after a short pause, there is no reason to wait.

One advise though - while you are working on the second course, pay close attention to the reviews / questions on the first course. If something is very wrong in the course (for example, I remember having a video wrongly mixed, with audio issues), correcting the issues is a first priority.

For the marketing, you may read this wonderful thread: https://community.udemy.com/t5/Marketing/How-can-I-market-my-course/m-p/435

    Cheers!

    With kind regards,
