I'm worried as well, and I still hope that Udemy can get back to how we had it preferably like 2018 :D , but currently right now this is simply not sustainable. Ive heard a bad economy can have an influence on many things, and it's not just to groceries and gas, but marketing.

  • And the worst part is that you have sort of a cycle that can fall into a loop the less you sell and promote our courses the less likely people are to make more courses, If you need more proof, look at the comments on here, people are saying the ROI is not worth the time. I've had courses that have been best sellers two years ago and held for five years straight and now not only are the badges removed but they make 1/10 now of what they made two years ago. As a consequence, both Udemy and myself lose money, so I'm hoping these changes can help us but please do not just have a plan to adapt to tough times, but have a plan to get us out of tough times. Honest to god I would put promoting courses with sales FAR HIGHER then anything else, because that is Udemy's big niche against competitors, at least for now.

This is very sad news. I hope that those let go, quickly find new doors opening for them. And the Udemy is able to forge a stronger path forwards.

  • Sorry for that, love all Udemy Team
