Research is a CRUCIAL part of being an effective teacher, keeping up with the latest data so your teaching stays on track, in line with REALITY.

 

And, teaching is learning.

 

Im new here, publishing Tai Chi, Qigong and Meditation lessons by some of the world's greatest teachers, including our founder, Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming.

I like this.

 

One of the things you gain by developing a course, writing a book, etc., is that it forces you (or should!) to do research, to think deeply about your topic, and to try to serve as a funnel for your students of all the relevant knowledge. You do research both to discover knowledge, but also to serve your students by relieving them of the work of researching everything available on a topic. 

 

Research is like exercise, it is often painful, tiresome, challenging, while it strengthens the muscle that can then be put to work in the development of your course.
