In my experience, the cornerstone of crafting a high-quality course lies in the alignment between course content and learner outcomes. My rule of thumb is to start with a clear understanding of who my learners are, what they need to achieve by the end of the course, and how best I can facilitate that journey. This involves creating comprehensive, structured content that is both informative and engaging, ensuring it caters to various learning styles.

Moreover, I prioritize interaction and practical application. This means incorporating quizzes, assignments, and interactive discussions that not only reinforce learning but also make it more engaging. I believe that a course should not just be a source of information but a platform for learners to apply concepts, solve problems, and think critically.

Lastly, continuous feedback from learners is invaluable. It allows for iterative improvements, ensuring the course remains relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with learners' evolving needs.

I always make sure pretty early on in my courses I give my students something to do. Not necessarily a test, but some action they can take right away to get them farther ahead than where they were when they sat down to begin the course. 

Something as simple as changing the language in their professional bios, a quick lesson with a quick win.
